Grant Request Application

At this time, Friends of Educare Silicon Valley accepts grant applications by invitation only. Below you’ll find everything you need to submit a request.

Timeline and Process

Friends of Educare Silicon Valley accepts grant requests three times per year: during the months of January, May, and September.

 

Following the grant application submission window, the Friends of Educare Silicon Valley Board of Directors will review and evaluate grant applications, as well as schedule time to speak with the applicants. Applicants will be notified of the funding decisions two months after the evaluation window closes. The grants will be disbursed approximately one month following the completion of the evaluation process.

All grant requests must be submitted via email to Michael Burke, Friends of Educare Silicon Valley Board President, MB@buffettearly.org, and Helena Bouron, CPA, hbouron@aslcpa.com

Application Questions

The total completed application should be limited to 1500 words. It must be submitted via email as a PDF or Word Document to MB@buffettearly.org and hbouron@aslcpa.com. ​

  1. Select the funding priority or priorities for which you are requesting the grant.

    • Research and Data Utilization

    • Embedded Professional Development

    • High-quality Teaching Practices

    • Intensive Family Engagement
       

  2. Explain how the funds will be used to support this funding priority or priorities.
     

  3. Specify the amount of funds requested for this project.
     

  4. What portion of the program will be funded by this grant? Where will the remaining funds come from?
     

  5. Are there partners/collaborators for implementation or funding? If so, please list the partners and describe the most important aspects of the partnership.
     

  6. What outcomes do you want to see as a result of this funding/program?
     

  7. Specify the timeline for spending the requested funds.
     

  8. Include a simple program budget (e.g. staff, program supplies, etc.).

Purpose of Grants

The purpose of all grants must be to advance the mission of Friends of Educare Silicon Valley.

The mission of Friends of Educare Silicon Valley is to support a sustainable Educare Silicon Valley and facilitate the Educare mission of advancing quality early learning through partnership and innovation in practice, policy, and research so every child in the Santee neighborhood can thrive.

At this time, grants will be considered only for the two primary operators of Educare Silicon Valley programs, Santa Clara County Office of Education and Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County.

Grant requests can be made for projects and programs within the following funding priorities:

  • Research and Data Utilization (examples include but are not limited to activities similar to or related to Educare's outdoor play and learn work, a co-investment with SCCOE in the Educare network required research assessments, etc.)

  • Embedded Professional Development (examples include but are not limited to reflective supervision and reflective practices, Conscious Discipline, etc.)

  • High-quality Teaching Practices (examples include but are not limited to Reggio-inspired work, dual language learning, etc.)

  • Intensive Family Engagement (examples include but are not limited to Parent Ambassador program, Brazelton Touchpoints approach, translation services or support, etc.)

Friends of ECSV is unable to support any grants that do not meet these conditions.
